It’s about laying hold of the upward call. It’s about the development and deployment of a new generation of leaders into the twenty-first century. It’s about training and sending young leaders all around the world. It’s about what happens when information and application come together and create transformation.
Acceptance into the Intern Experience will be determined by your application portfolio, references, and an interview. Three factors contribute in determining whether it is the right time for you to be an intern at The City Church:
Now accepting applications for fall (September 2014) and spring (January 2014). International students welcome!

Instruction sessions include courses in biblical content, practical ministry, and relevant life issues that equip each intern with foundational truths that build character and knowledge essential for Kingdom service. The core classes offered at the Intern Experience are Portland Bible College extension courses taught locally by our instructors. Interns who complete the classes will receive PBC degree credits.
Whether it’s involvement in a campus Bible study, delivering food products, calling visitors, or working in the media ministry; you’ll be involved in the heartbeat of a growing and thriving ministry. We believe that teaching and experience go hand-in-hand, and that the integration of information and application is the key to your success.
The Intern Experience program offers mission trips through The City Church to various local churches we are in relationship with in America and around world including church plants in San Diego, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Washington DC; Indonesia, India, Uganda, Mexico and others. We believe in investing and empowering the local church in order to see the body of Christ extended in the world
As an intern, we want you above all else to be intimately acquainted with the voice of God. Prayer is where that happens. Every year, interns say that it is in these moments of prayer that make the greatest and most lasting impressions on their lives. You’ll also be spending time building relationships and ministering in the context of small groups. It is a time to be mentored by some of our best leaders and to see your own leadership skills develop as you interact with others in life-giving accountability relationships

The City Church, over the years and through multiple miracles, has acquired many church buildings throughout the Seattle region making us ‘one church in many locations.’ Our weekend services are live streamed to all of our church campuses. The Plateau campus is situated in the beautiful setting of the Issaquah/Sammamish area surrounded by woods and in walking distance of Lake Sammamish. The Plateau campus, with college style dorms, a full service cafeteria, staff offices and classrooms, is home to our Intern Experience program. As one of our thriving churches campuses, this renovated Bible College is the perfect setting for young leaders to be trained in ministry.
